This was not supposed to happen until next summer but somehow the Mellon Bed has been born.

Murph ran the tiller for a good three hours.  We were working as fast and as hard as we could before the storm.  He tilled. Mark cut grass, and I got wheelbarrows full of compost from the compost bin for Murph to till into the soil.

Next the fencing goes up so the pups can't get in there and dig to China.  I have an old gate they are going to incorporate in the fencing.  Murph even made me a path to the rabbit hutch.

It just keeps getting better and better.  But where are we going to put the corn? JK

The Expansion

. .
Mark ordered the supplies Murph needed to construct the trellises.  Jeremy picked up the order and help by digging the post holes.  Using a posthole digger is my least favorite thing to do in the yard.  I am just not strong enough to do it anymore.  So thankful for young strong men to help out.

Again with the Social Distancing Gardening.

Steve came over to lend us a hand too!

This was not supposed to happen until next year.

Thanks again Jeremy for the pick-up and delivery along with the manual labor!

Phase Two

. .

The first iris to survive.  Only because it is on the outside of the fence.

I think we are going to lose out Redbud tree.  Only a few of these beautiful little clusters on what I think might be a dead or dying tree.

I could sit and smell these all day long.

Surprise.  Another really healthy bloom of the magnolia.

I got out my big girl camera today and got some shots.  This is one of them with the long lens attached.

The question is...will this blook survive three puppies?

A Sneak Peak

. .
Mark has been in Wammy mandated Self-@uarantine for 56 days.  He is a  man at the end of his rope, going crazy not being able to go out into the world.  So at week about 50, we started working in the garden.  We got all the weeds out, thistle almost tamed and strawberry plants in.  Then came in the real garden man, Murph.  He has BIG plans for the garden and if it all works the garden will be amazing!

This is Social Distancing Gardening.  And believe me, I watched them like a hawk.

Last I saw before I went into sew was them using the tiller and rake.  Next time I stick my head oust to check n them, they have mulched and filled the herb beds with dirt!

It looks amazing!

I am so thrilled.  But little do I know what is coming next.

We can't decide on a name for this garden.  The COVID Gaden is the first thing that I thought of.  Then Murph calls it the Ellis Plantation Garden.  Then I called it The Community Garden because it is taking a small village to work on it.
