First Strawberries and Watermelon Patch

The weeds were tall and thick.

He had on the metal blade to cut the grasses down to the ground.  All we need to do now is dig them out.  And that folks is the hardest job!

Getting Garden Ready

 Another bed in the making!  We haven't really decided what will go where this year except for the tomatoes.  We are going to try to grow them up a string on a trellis that Murph made.

We worked in the goat pen AKA The Goad Bed and found almost 50 stepping stones.

This is going to be great soil once we till it and move it around.  Veggies and flowers should grow very well in here.

Ollie and Gladys decided this would be a great place to did.  Go ahead you two garden helpers one day it will one of the best-producing gardens on NottaLotta.

I finally got the last bed cleared out and rocks restacked.  How long do you think it will last?

Where do we go from here? Just wait and see,

Last Bed

 

The yahoos and dogs helped with this one.  I wonder how long it will look like this.  Taking bets!

Now I am ready to sow native plants and I have an iris that I want to relocate here.

Just looks like a mud bed now but I am hoping and praying by the end of the school year it will look like something.

Cleaning Up The Big Bed

We have a problem.  I lost 12 little blue bottles off this bottle tree over the winter.  I need someone to help me find more.  I think they might be Bud Lite.  Notice my new chalked rocks.  The yahoos chalked them for me.

Right now I will take weeds...anything green.  I removed the big railroad tie with the old green shutter and then the three ties that were on the ground.  Really opened it up.

A Little More Clean-Up

This is going to be the new Watermellon Patch.

It is going to be huge!!

Unexpected Muscle

 Kory came to pick up Gabe but he was still sleeping.  So we just sat in the backyard and chit-chatted for a little bit.  We were telling him about all the projects we were trying to get finished while Murph is doing some home improvements at his house.  Next thing I know all the 4x4's were out and we had moved the climber to its new home.

This fence around this tub has been the death of us since putting in the Pumpkin Patch.  It just was so out-of-place.

Kory just muscled it back and forth a little bit and bear-hugged it and that's all she wrote.

There is a nice hole a dog or small child could get lost in but not to worry we covered it back up and will fill it in later.

There once was a three post rosebush trellis here.  Nope, The Korymister got them out.

And now we will have saved $60 by reusing these posts.

And you won't believe it but Kory, Adilyn, and I moved the climber to its new home in the yard.  Ahhh...my list is getting shorter.

Jon Milligan don't you worry we still need to unload, move and reload that raised bed.  And I think while sitting outside today Pappy might have seen a few more small projects that we can do.
