Wammy and Pappy's Backyard

It Starting To Have Some Color

. Sunday, June 12, 2022 .

We have lots and lots of green in the yard.  This year I am planting marigold seeds in all the pots because we are on a 'spending freeze' for a bit...which is good... a little less work for me around the yard because if you know Pappy he goes after two plants and comes back with ten.  I'm not complaining at all just making a statement.

I'm guessing with the weather that has been forecast for our area this baby should open by Tuesday.  Coneflowers are one of my favorites.

I have found that Sweet Woodruff will grow just about anywhere.  So I am challenging it to grow around the big oak tree.  We shall see.

This makes me so happy.

The Invincible Spirit hydrangea is ready to pop.

Black-eyed Susans are peeking out all over the yard.

Look. I found a grinding stone I forgot we had because it was covered in Japanese butterbur.  Not my favorite plant.  It might be history after this year.

The last of the weeding in the flower beds has been accomplished!  Mark it off the list!

I made this little concrete bunt pan planter years ago.  I found some blooming stonecrop that just fit.

Here they come.

Not sure what this plant is and neither is Google lens.  It is in the Ohio Native Perennial bed.  Guess I need to wait until it blooms and try again.

Same with this one.

The two bee balms are coming up.  I can't remember what color they will be.  It will be a surprise.

I am thinking this is a Gayfeather.  We had them in WI and they are so pretty.

Swamp milkweed is ready to bloom.

Another mystery plant.

I think this is black-eyed Susan vine but Mark thinks it is Morning Glories.  Again Google lens didn't have enough to go on.

Clematis is one of my favorites but I haven't done too well with them lately.

Any guesses?
