And Today We Begin

A request. Anyone want to save eggshells so I can put them in a coffee grinder and make calcium for our garden?  I've got Wammyville parents on it already.

These are eggshells from the first eggs of our chickens.  I added a little flaxseed to them and was going to give it to the girls as a snack.  But I thought they were too pretty to use.

Steady and slow is our motto this year.  We started on the beds at the top of the driveway.  Boy did it feel good!

It takes teamwork and a chair.  I stay close to the ground and Pappy picks a chair.

We had a bag of mulch that came from I can't remember where so I used it to smother the weeds that will be up in this little side bed in no time.  We decided to take down the broken mirror after the pic was taken.  I even rigged the washtub up so it was level. Simplify is a keyword this year also.

We also gathered seeds from a huge garbage bag of coneflower clippings that Kelli and Trevor gave us last fall.  We got a coffee can full of seeds and aren't halfway through the bag.  Hopefully, we can sew them in all the places that need a little bit of color and they will take.

We even worked in the Strawberry Bed Garden a little bit.  Murph will be so proud!  I'll get pics tomorrow. I forgot today.

It feels great to have dirt under my fingernails again.  I'm going to be sore tomorrow.
