Today was my first official day of summer break...that means I am getting down and dirty with all the weeds in the flower beds. Nothing better than dirt under my fingernails...well, unless it is warm sand between my toes.
This was in the bed by the rabbit hutch. There are several about ready to bloom.
This beauty came up through the hosta on Mr. Bill's side of the house... a complete surprise.
Thought I would give Mark a little bit of sunshine while he read his book.
Guess what I found in the dirt...a cicada! Oh no, they have made their way from the Nature Center to my yard. The chickens will be fat and happy by the time they have all come out of hibernation or whatever they are in for 7 years. Sorry, Ms. Renee!
