Pulling into the driveway I noticed a HUGE HEAVY box blocking the front door.

After opening it we decided to hit the back yard to clear out a space for our new adventure.  We had to remove about four ornamental grasses.  They eat up you arms.  And of course there is poison ivy.  And weeds in general.  My delicate skin can't handle all that stuff anymore so I am covered from head to toe.  Looking great let me tell you.  So thankful for a high fence.  Not to mention it is about 94 degrees and the air is so think you can cut it with a knife.

We made a dent in it but still have lots to accomplish.

Most important thing...getting it level!  Not our strong suit.

Four grasses removed and several wheelbarrows of weed in the back of the truck and in the compost bin.  Tiller run.  Raked.  Placed. Leveled again. Put together. Water added.  Chemicals added to the water. Timer set. Mulched.  All we need now is a ring of rocks.  And of course the plants.

Wish us luck!

Our Very Own Strawberries

Yummmm  and I don't even like peas.  When I was little I would stuff them in my milk carton at school.  I would swallow them like pills when we would have them for dinner at home.  But thee is nothing better than going out to the garden and picking peas and eating them straight from the shell.  I love them!

Never have they grown so tall or bloomed so well.  Must be the rabbit poop!

The first of Sarah Beth's lilies to bloom.

The knockout roses are going crazy!!!!

I am so glad because I put them in the resting boxes for the girls.  They say that aroma therapy helps they lay.  Seems to work.  And it looks good and smells good too.

I can't keep up with all the peonies.  They are so heavy they are hitting the ground.  Guess I had better invest in more cages.
